| Leamington Ladies Netball Club
The Club has been in existence for over 45 years and throughout this time has constantly evolved and changed to meet the needs of its members. In 1990 it was decided to merge with the Leamington Rugby Club to provide a stable home ground and also to promote Leamington Rugby Club as a centre of excellence for sport in general. The Netball club has a membership of five senior teams and three junior teams. All senior teams compete in the Coventry and Warwickshire District League and the juniors compete in both the under12, under 14 and under 16 age groups. The club has a continued history of success, with teams currently in the Premier league and at all other levels through to Division 5. This excellent record gives the Netball section an enviable reputation in the region which is reflected by the increase in numbers and enthusiasm for the game. The Netball section takes its sport very seriously and acknowledges the need for good training and additional support services, with this in mind the club continues to train their own umpires and provides independent coaching for all members. Since its affiliation with Leamington Rugby Club, the Netball section has benefited from facilities such as a gym, showers and home and away changing rooms. In return the girls have provided a varied and active social calender which encourages Leamington to be seen as a family club providing an important facility for the community in general. The Netball section strongly believes that competing in their chosen sport is the prime motivation for joining a club such as the Leamington Ladies. Strong skills and fitness training combine to give the club its success, whilst the training and facilities inherited with this move to Leamington Rugby Club make competing very enjoyable. |
